I love this idea, only I think I would use plastic jars instead, but still you can see what is in each one from the bottom. Too neat!
Creating a space for kids in your studio isn't such a hard thing to do. To inspire them, to get them creating, doesn't take much effort at all. A small table or nook just for them is a great idea! And if they have their own supplies maybe they will stay out of yours LOL.
I love this space, it's so colorful and has room for all the best craft tools. Lots of canisters and baskets for craft books. Go see the other great pics of this most excellent kids craft space.
I love the idea of the neat fabric pockets on the bulletin board to hold papers and artwork.

I'm planning on making an area for my kids in my studio. So they can come in and make art whenever the muse hits them. They will have all their own supplies and their own work station, table and chairs, storage and clean up area.
