Chic in Camel.

Fall fashion is all about camel and these outfits are the epitome of chic.  I found these photos on a website called Les Mads that is unfortunately all in German so I can't tell you much about them.  I do know they were taken in Paris and I wish I could dress like this everyday.  Le sigh.

What a Wonderful Weekend

Thanks to some generous, loving people,
I have just experienced the most amazing Thanksgiving weekend.

It all began with a magically elegant
50th wedding anniversary party set at
The Boulevard Club

on the edge of Lake Ontario.

Congratulations Sam and Heidi.
Thank you Christian, Jean-Paul, Jonathan and Alexandra for graciously including us as you feted your parents.

Then a wonderful, lazy Sunday at home
just me, Brilliant Husband...

newspapers...

coffee...

croissants...

a glowing fire...

Up bright and early Monday for a full-on Thanksgiving feast with the family!

Thank you George and Paula!

The day finished with an hilarious evening with V., her sisters-in-law, daughter,
nieces, some delicious champagne and gooey, smelly cheeses.

Thank you John and Adri for our perfect room at Hotel Martini
Ida, Alexandra,
Sarah and Katie-squared for the terrific old jokes and the gallons of laughter.

This morning, Victoria and I and Adri and Kate drank coffee around the dining room table before gathering ourselves for a brisk walk in the early fall sunshine.

Then it was back to the house for big mugs of hot tea, more of Adri's exquisite baking before whisking sister and niece off to the airport and back to British Columbia.

So very much to be thankful for.

Chic Autumnal Decorating Ideas

One of my readers asked me to post about chic Halloween decorations.  I don't really decorate for Halloween so I suggest visiting Martha Stewart who has an entire magazine dedicated to the holiday.  I do however enjoy decorating for autumn and I'm sure most of these ideas could be modified for Halloween.  Even though orange is my favorite color, I happen to love the look of white pumpkins.  They are perfect for creating chic autumn or Halloween decorations.  Happy October!

Autumn Inspiration: Part Deux

After a week of rain, we are finally feeling crisp autumnal weather in New York.  Pumpkins are for sale on every corner and soon it will be time to light a fire.  Happy October!

Autumn

The weather in New York may feel like the height of summer but the calendar says it's the first full day of autumn.  In order to get us in the mood, I thought I would post photos of the fall foliage that should be upon us soon.
