Homebody in Queenscliff

The beautiful store Homebody in Queenscliff is a recent addition to our stockist list and is definitely one of our favourite shops. Sisters Frances O'Shea and Loretta Barker took over Homebody in August of last year and together with their friend Catherine Rush have relaunched the store as a destination emporium for all things desirable for body and home.

Face and body products from L'Occitane and the hair-care range from MOP organics are complemented by Mela Purdie clothing, Helen Kaminski hats, Bronte Bay Paris bags and Alan Myerson leathergoods.Candles and diffusers from Glasshouse, Sydney blend beautifully with Homebody's own range of soaps, of which there are seven divine frangrances to choose from.

The store has also recently imported Catherine Memmi Paris candles and fragrance making Homebody an exclusive stockist of the brand.

"Every product has a story and philosophy to match our vision and it is this that makes Leoni & Vonk's jewellery such a perfect addition to the store" explains Catherine. "As Queenscliff is a tourist town, customers love the link between what they buy and their holiday. A shell found on nearby Point Lonsdale beach has been cast in silver by Leoni & Vonk and forms a deleicate story on leather or silver chain. Nostalgic coast-inspired art-deco prints have been made into lockets and are purchased as gifts to love now and be heirlooms of the future" she adds.

Homebody's philosophy is to sell the highest quality pieces that tell a story and offer the customer individuality and style - it is a store to be savoured and enjoyed and is well worth a visit any time of year.

Chic in New York: Etos

I've written about Etos before but they have recently renovated their space and it's definitely worth another look.  The store is owned by Mercedes Desios and Alberto Villalobos who met while they were students at the New York School of Interior Design.  They share not only a store but an interior design business and the chicest sense of style.  Mercedes is Italian and Alberto is Colombian and it seems like they are always flying off somewhere exotic to source for the shop and holiday.  They are not only talented but honestly two of the nicest people I've ever met.  Their travels mean the shop is an eclectic mix of antiques, accessories and new pieces.  I especially love the pre-Colombian bowls that Alberto brings back from visiting his family.  I hope you'll stop by the next time you're downtown.

Christmas shopping in South Melbourne

One of our newest Melbourne stockists Maker Handmade in South Melbourne is having an opening celebration and Christmas shopping night next Thursday the 25 November - pop along for a glass of bubbles and start that Christmas shopping!

Club Monaco at Shopbop

Club Monaco is one of my favorite retailers in New York.  I always know I can find great clothing and accessories that don't scream where I bought them.  I would always feel bad about posting my favorite pieces on Habitually Chic though because not many of my readers have access to their stores but all that has changed today.  Shopbop has partnered with Club Monaco to offer their fabulous fall collection for sale online.  I attended the launch party last night and am already eyeing that plaid coat above.  It would be perfect for the cooler temperatures today.  I'll leave the over the knee socks to you tall skinny girls! Paris to Provence

We are very happy to be involved in the Paris to Provence French Festival to be held in the grounds of the beautiful Como House on Friday 1 October and Saturday 2 October.

The festival will have 70 French stalls including jewellery, holidays, clothing, homewares and Shannon Bennett's Vue du monde. Entertainment includes roaming characters Marie Antoinette, Gendarme, Napoleon, 3 pce French musical trio, mime artists, French choir, Shannon Bennett live, animal nursery on Friday, Fashion parade, petanque, display cars from Peugeot and heaps of yummy French food...............


We will be showcasing lots of gorgeous French inspired jewellery like our best selling Eiffel locket as seen below. Reg Loves This will also be making a special French inspired appearance.

Lifeinstyle Melbourne is just round the corner now and we are very excited about our new banner. Following the billboard in a cityscape theme the new banner features our favourite image of the moment from our Day at the Beach photo shoot - just gorgeous!

Le Marché

We are off to Market tomorrow! - The inaugral Paris to Provence at the beautiful Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne.

 The event presents a large French inspired market with interactive stalls broken up into seven categories: food & wine, children, gifts & accessories, French books & magazines, travel & events, cosmetics and courses & classes. Visitors will be treated to free chocolate samples and wine and cheesesampling workshops while enjoying some of the best live French entertainment Melbourne has to offer, including performances from theMelbourne French Theatre and songs from the ‘La La La’ French choir. Mini French enthusiasts will love the face painting and French story time.

From Paris to Provence - inspirational France

A recent trip to France was the main inspiration for our new collection.

Paris - the light on ancient buildings, the juxtaposition of old and new, classic and quirky and the appreciation of  style and beauty. The rustic charm of the French countryside with it's stunning buildings, green fields and wild flowers provided the perfect contrast.

Grab yourself a little bit of your own French inspiration at the up and coming Paris to Provence expo at the beautiful and historic Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne on Saturday 29 May. Described as a Tour of France at the Convent the event will host over 50 exhibitors - French wine and food, homewares, gifts and clothes and lifestyle organisations will all on be show along with some French inspired Leoni & Vonk jewellery!
